You have the right to cancel your contract within 14 days of receipt of the goods. The easiest way to do this is to return the goods to us in accordance with the below instructions. If you are unable to return the goods to us before the 14 day period has expired you need to notify us of your intention to cancel, always within the 14 day period. To do so, simply email victoria@scentsandsolace.co.uk.

Goods must be returned to us in their original condition, un used within 14 days of the date on which you informed us that you wished to cancel (or, if you have not told us that you wish to cancel, within 14 days of receipt of the goods).

We will then refund your purchase within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or proof that the order has been returned, whichever is earlier. Any items returned to us must be in their original condition – if they’re not, we may be unable to accept them. We may make a deduction from the refund for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.

How Do I Care For My Wood Wick Candle?

Tunnelling

This generally occurs when the candle isn't allowed to form a uniform pool of melted wax on the first burn or if the manufacturer hasnt chosen the correct wick for the size of container used. "Tunneling" may occur if the candle is lit and extinguished before the pool of wax has formed. Upon the first lighting, let the candle burn for a couple of hours or until you see that the wax is melted all the way across the top of the candle. Some candle waxes seem to have more of a memory than others. If you burn it for a short time, when you relight the candle it will tend to repeat that burn pattern. All of our candles have been tested rigorously to ensure no tunnelling.

Maintenance

If you have a candle which builds up large black deposits on the inside of the container it is is called "sooting" and can be caused by poorly sized wicks, too much or the wrong fragrance oil, poor quality wax, a draft, by not trimming the wick to 1/4", or by the jar neck being too narrow to allow sufficient circulation around the wick. To keep your glass looking brand new, while candle and glass is cool, use a clean damp cloth and wipe any wax residue and soot off, taking care to completely dry the area before lighting the candle again
